A senior stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Iteh in Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State, Barr. P.O. Akoje, has raised strong concerns over what he described as undemocratic conduct by certain political leaders in the area. He urged Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to intervene urgently to safeguard the unity and integrity of the ruling party in the state.
In a statement made available to journalists, Barr. Akoje accused the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Enwuchiola Ojoma Egwuaba, and the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Timothy Ojoma, of masterminding acts intended to frustrate the return of the former Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba, to the APC.
He alleged that the officials pressured and financially induced party executives in Iyano Ward with the sum of ₦400,000 to sign a document opposing Elder Achuba’s re-admission into the party.

Describing the act as “a serious breach of democratic ethics and party discipline,” Akoje said the alleged incident stands in direct contrast to the APC’s core principles of inclusion, fairness, and internal democracy.
He called on the Governor to launch a thorough investigation into the matter and take decisive action against anyone found culpable, warning that failure to do so could cause deep divisions within the party in Ibaji and jeopardize its performance in future elections.
Barr. Akoje further demanded the immediate resignation of the Deputy Speaker and the Commissioner, describing their conduct as “unbecoming of public officers and a betrayal of the trust placed in them.”
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the unity and progress of the APC in Ibaji, stressing that “the party must remain a platform for justice, fairness, and equal opportunity for all members.”
Signed:
Barr. P.O. Akoje
