In a strategic move to strengthen political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, the City Boy Movement has appointed Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki of Kwara State as its North Central Zonal Coordinator. The appointment, which was announced early this week, underscores the group’s commitment to expanding its grassroots structure across Nigeria’s key geopolitical zones.
Ambassador Seriki — commonly referred to as Amb. Yahaya Seriki Gambari — is a seasoned businessman, philanthropist, and political organiser from Kwara State. He has previously contested elective positions and served as Director-General of political campaigns in both the 2019 and 2023 election cycles, reflecting deep experience in political strategy and grassroots engagement.

In his new role with the City Boy Movement, Seriki is charged with coordinating mobilisation and organisational activities across the North Central zone, which includes Kwara, Kogi, Niger, Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). His leadership is expected to drive enhanced youth mobilisation, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination of the Movement’s vision in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and eventual re-election bid in 2027.
The City Boy Movement — established in 2022 as a youth-driven support platform for President Tinubu — has been actively consolidating its national structure, including ratifying state and diaspora directors to optimise its grassroots reach ahead of the next polls. The group aims to educate, mobilise, and empower Nigerian youths and women behind the Renewed Hope Agenda, while deepening coordination across all states.
The appointment of Seriki in the North Central region comes on the heels of other strategic engagements by the Movement, such as the recent handing over of the South-East mandate to businessman Obi Cubana, who was formally presented with the regional role in Abuja, reinforcing inclusive engagement across geopolitical zones.

City Boy Movement leaders describe the expanding leadership structure as a critical milestone in strengthening national coordination and delivering impactful outcomes through disciplined leadership and strategic collaboration. They maintain that with quality leaders like Seriki, Cubana, and other state directors in place, the group is well-positioned to galvanise support across communities and contribute meaningfully to the 2027 electoral process.
