The Kogi State Chapter of the City Boy Movement has paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Joel Salifu Oyibo, as part of efforts to strengthen youth participation and consolidate grassroots political structures across the state.The delegation, led by the State Director, Chief Ogah Mark Okpanachi, described the visit as a strategic engagement aimed at formally presenting the Movement to the Deputy Governor and aligning its activities with the broader developmental objectives of the state government.

Addressing the Deputy Governor, Okpanachi said the City Boy Movement is a youth-driven political and grassroots mobilisation platform dedicated to supporting the leadership and policy direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the administration of Governor Usman Ododo in Kogi State.

He explained that the Movement is made up of vibrant and progressive young Nigerians committed to continuity in governance, inclusive development, and responsible political engagement. According to him, its core mandate includes political education, structured youth mobilisation, community-based advocacy, and promotion of government policies at the grassroots level.

Okpanachi further disclosed that the Kogi chapter has commenced the establishment of functional structures across the 21 local government areas and various wards in the state. These structures, he noted, are designed to foster political awareness, unity, discipline, and constructive participation among young people.“The purpose of this visit is to seek Your Excellency’s guidance, assure you of our loyalty, and reaffirm our readiness to work with the government in promoting peace, stability, and youth inclusion in governance,” he stated.

He added that the Movement remains committed to collaborating with traditional rulers, political stakeholders, community leaders, and relevant institutions to deepen grassroots engagement and ensure that the ideals of progress and continuity are sustained across the state.In his remarks, Deputy Governor Oyibo commended the leadership of the City Boy Movement for their organisation and proactive approach to political mobilisation. He encouraged members to remain law-abiding, focused, and united, emphasizing the importance of responsible political conduct in sustaining democratic growth and stability.

The visit ended with a renewed commitment by the City Boy Movement, Kogi State Chapter, to intensify grassroots mobilisation and continue supporting progressive leadership at both the state and national levels.
