Abuja, Nigeria — In a move to bolster national safety and regulatory efficiency, Hon. David Zacharia, Member of the House of Representatives representing Idah Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Safety Standards and Regulations, led an oversight visit to the headquarters of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) earlier today.

The visit was aimed at assessing the Nigeria Customs Service’s compliance with safety standards, examining operational challenges, and exploring avenues to improve border security and trade facilitation in Nigeria.
During the visit, Hon. Zacharia and members of the committee held productive engagements with Deputy Comptroller-General Bello M. Jibo, who represented the Comptroller-General of Customs, along with his executive team.
Key focus areas of the meeting included:
- Strengthening safety protocols at ports and border posts.
- Improving regulatory frameworks to ensure seamless and secure operations.
- Enhancing collaboration between the NCS and other national stakeholders for improved security and economic development.
Hon. Zacharia commended the Nigeria Customs Service for its ongoing commitment to national security and regulatory excellence, expressing optimism about continued collaboration.
