Hon. James Faleke Empowers Over 600 Beneficiaries in Ikeja Federal Constituency

Ikeja, Lagos – June 3, 2025

In a continued effort to foster economic self-reliance and uplift constituents, the Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, on Tuesday, spearheaded another round of life-changing empowerment under his Mini Mega Empowerment Programme.

The programme, held in the heart of Ikeja, saw 240 youths from across Ikeja, Ojodu, and Onigbongbo local council areas each receive ₦100,000 cash grants to support their businesses and entrepreneurial aspirations. In addition, over 400 beneficiaries were gifted various empowerment tools to enable them to kick-start or scale up their ventures.

Tools Distributed to Boost Local Economy

Among the items distributed were:

• Tricycles
• Dispatch motorcycles
• Freezers
• Generators
• Popcorn machines
• Clipper sets
• Grinding machines
• Juice extractors

These tools are expected to significantly reduce unemployment and foster sustainable livelihoods among the constituents.

Training and More Grants to Follow

Hon. Faleke also revealed that the empowerment initiative is far from over. On Wednesday and Thursday, an additional 170 constituents will undergo business training sessions, after which they will also receive cash support to start or grow their businesses.

“I encourage all beneficiaries to make the most of these opportunities, shun all forms of social vices, and continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he drives forward his economic transformation agenda for Nigeria,” Hon. Faleke stated in his message.

Support for APC and Local Government Polls

The federal lawmaker also used the occasion to rally support for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Local Government elections, calling on residents to unite behind the party to ensure continuity of progress across the state.

Hon. Faleke’s empowerment programme is widely regarded as one of the most consistent and impactful in Lagos State, with thousands having benefitted from various phases over the years. His dedication to grassroots development and youth empowerment continues to set a benchmark in constituency service delivery.

The event ended on a joyful note as constituents expressed appreciation for the lawmaker’s unwavering commitment to their welfare and pledged continued support.
