The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, has held a high-level bilateral meeting with the Deputy Minister of Public Security of China, Mr. Qi Yanjun.
The strategic engagement comes ahead of the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (GPSCF) scheduled to take place in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, People’s Republic of China, from 16th to 18th September 2025.

At the meeting, both parties exchanged views on advancing global public safety and discussed key issues of international security importance. The deliberations underscored the need for stronger cooperation between Nigeria and China in addressing contemporary security challenges, while also highlighting the relevance of multilateral platforms such as the GPSCF in shaping collective security efforts worldwide.
