Alobi, Kogi state.
There’s growing relief and renewed hope in the Alobi community as significant progress has been recorded on the Alobi Gully Erosion Control Project—a critical intervention influenced by Hon. Zacharia David for his constituency.
The project, aimed at mitigating the devastating effects of erosion that have long plagued the area, is well underway. Key components such as reinforced retaining walls, advanced drainage systems, and terracing have now been successfully installed. These structures are not only stabilizing the terrain but are also significantly reducing the risk of further erosion, ensuring safer passage for commuters and preserving homes, farmlands, and public infrastructure.

This intervention, made possible through collaboration with FERMA (Federal Roads Maintenance Agency), marks a major step forward in the protection and sustainability of the community’s environment.
“This project is a testimony to what’s possible when leadership, government agencies, and the people work together,” said Hon. Zacharia David. “We will continue to push for impactful projects that protect lives, improve mobility, and safeguard our environment.”
A heartfelt thank you goes to the hardworking team at FERMA and the community members who have actively supported the effort through encouragement, cooperation, and oversight.
Let us continue to work hand in hand for the development and preservation of our land.
