Yola, Adamawa State – Tuesday, June 3, 2025

The Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA), under the leadership of Dr. Michael Zira, has intensified preparations for the official launch of the highly anticipated Fintiri Business Wallet 2025. In a strategic move to ensure a seamless rollout, Dr. Zira convened a crucial meeting with the leadership of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Adamawa State.

The meeting, held in Yola, was described as both timely and productive, focusing on implementation strategies, local government-level synergy, and stakeholder engagement to guarantee the success of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s flagship economic empowerment programme.

The Fintiri Business Wallet is a major initiative of the Fintiri-led administration designed to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the state by providing direct financial assistance, skills training, and tools to scale up productivity. The programme forms a key component of the administration’s broader poverty reduction and economic inclusion agenda, targeting youth and women entrepreneurs in both rural and urban areas.

A Catalyst for Grassroots Empowerment

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Michael Zira highlighted the significance of ALGON’s involvement:

“The partnership with ALGON is vital. Local government leaders are the closest to the grassroots, and their collaboration ensures that the Fintiri Business Wallet reaches its intended beneficiaries efficiently and transparently.”

The programme, expected to launch later this month, will begin with pilot disbursements and entrepreneurship support services in selected LGAs before expanding statewide.

Fintiri’s Commitment to Inclusive Development

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has been widely praised for his people-oriented policies. From the free education policy, timely salary payments, to massive rural road construction and digital economic reforms, the administration continues to prioritize the welfare of ordinary citizens. The Fintiri Business Wallet stands out as a forward-thinking solution to youth unemployment and capital inaccessibility faced by small-scale entrepreneurs.

Observers believe the wallet could become a model for other states if properly implemented and sustained.

The launch of the Fintiri Business Wallet is seen as another bold step in transforming Adamawa’s economy from the bottom up, and today’s meeting signals that the administration is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the programme’s success.
