Police, Reps Committee, ICPC Probe on Alleged Fake PFIPC Vindicates Gbajabiamila

Investigations by the Nigeria Police Force, the House of Representatives Committee, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) into the alleged fictitious Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) have reportedly vindicated the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, while shifting attention to other individuals implicated in the alleged fake-agency operation.

According to findings from the investigations, police forensic experts reportedly established that the signature attributed to Gbajabiamila on the purported PFIPC appointment letter was forged. Financial investigators were also said to have found no evidence linking the Chief of Staff to the alleged ₦400 million connected to Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew.

Investigators reportedly traced the funds to accounts linked to Adeyemi, where the money was allegedly expended on vehicles, personal expenses, family transfers, and other transactions.The probe further revealed that Gbajabiamila had, as far back as October 2025, petitioned security agencies over the alleged impersonation and unauthorized use of his name. His complaint reportedly triggered the investigation that culminated in Adeyemi’s arrest.

Police investigators were also said to have discovered that the purported legal instrument establishing the PFIPC was fraudulent and was allegedly used by the suspect to gain access to government offices and structures.Five Government Officials NamedThe police report reportedly identified five government officials alleged to have facilitated aspects of the fictitious agency’s operations:* Mrs. Rosemary Omaye Achem, Special Assistant (Administration) to the Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation, allegedly linked to budget creation and insertions for the fake agency.* Ms. Patricia Akhigbe, Assistant Director in the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, allegedly linked to budget creation and insertions.* Dr. Joshua Kadmi Luka, Director (CAD), Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, allegedly linked to government account creation and allocation of a National Chart of Accounts code.* Dr. Mimi Abu, Director in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, allegedly linked to establishment approval and organizational structure.* Mr. Harry Ogaba, a staff member seconded from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, identified among officials allegedly involved in facilitating aspects of the operation.

Sources familiar with the investigation disclosed that no fewer than 22 suspects were questioned as the probe widened.The development has reportedly redirected scrutiny away from Gbajabiamila and toward the alleged impostor and other persons suspected to have aided the fake agency’s infiltration of government institutions.Investigators maintained that the forensic and financial evidence available so far establishes no connection between the Chief of Staff and the alleged ₦400 million, while inquiries into the roles of those named in the report are continuing.Officials of the police, the House Committee, and the ICPC have yet to issue a joint formal statement on the latest findings.
