Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno has charged athletes competing at the first-ever Niger-Delta Sports Festival to make good use of the opportunity to showcase their talents.
Governor Eno gave the advise at the opening ceremony of the festival in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

With the theme, “ Beyond Oil: Harnessing Talents”, the maiden edition of the Niger-Delta Sports Festival kicked off at the Uyo Township Stadium amidst pomp and pageantry.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno lauded the initiative which he said was in line with the vision of the human capital development of his administration.
Chairman, National Sports Commission, Shehu Diklo, who represented President Bola Tinubu, praised Governor Eno for hosting the event.

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa expressed the hope that the festival would help in the discovery of new talents in the region.
The Sports fiesta features 17 sports with 3,400 athletes, 560 coaches and 418 officials attending the 9-days event, holding at 7 different venues within Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
