Security was visibly reinforced in Calabar on Monday, as the residents responded to the nationwide April 7th Take It Back’ protest.

Despite the nationwide call to action, the Cross River capital remained largely calm and orderly.

Residents were seen carrying on with their daily routines undisturbed, and no major incidents were recorded.

The atmosphere in Calabar remained calm and peaceful.

Meanwhile, human rights lawyer, Utum Eteng, has reacted to the recent declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.

He described the move as a commendable step and the right decision under the current circumstances.

For now, security remains tight across Calabar, with authorities urging residents to remain calm and go about their lawful activities.
