Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved a 24-hour extension of the curfew imposed on 10 local government areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park.
The state government had on June 23, 2026, imposed a curfew from 4pm to 8am in the affected local government areas.
The extension was announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde, in a memo circulated to relevant government agencies and the public.

With the extension, the curfew, which was initially scheduled to last 48 hours, will now remain in force until Saturday, June 27, 2026.
The affected local government areas are Oriire, with headquarters in Ikoyi-Ile; Orelope, with headquarters in Igboho; Irepo, with headquarters in Kisi; Saki West, with headquarters in Saki; Saki East, with headquarters in Ago-Amodu; Atisbo, with headquarters in Tede/Ago-Are; Itesiwaju, with headquarters in Otu; Iseyin, with headquarters in Iseyin; Olorunsogo, with headquarters in Igbeti; and Atiba, with headquarters in Offa-Meta, Oyo.
