A group has called on organisers of a planned street protest in Abuja to shelve the action and instead seek constructive engagement with relevant authorities over alleged violations of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Master Plan.
The group urged the organisers to identify specific areas where they believe the FCT Master Plan has been violated and present their concerns through dialogue with the appropriate government agencies.
It cautioned that street protests could further disrupt activities in the nation’s capital, urging stakeholders to pursue peaceful and lawful channels to resolve their grievances.
The group also called on security agencies to remain vigilant and urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remain focused on his administration’s agenda, describing the planned protest as a distraction.
It further appealed to youths and other well-meaning Nigerians to protect peace and stability in Abuja, stressing that the capital should not be subjected to unnecessary disruption.
The group insisted that any attempt to shut down Abuja would be resisted peacefully but firmly by what it described as patriotic citizens.
“Abuja will not be shut down. Wike is working. Nigeria will be stable,” the group declared.
