Former Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to President Alassane Ouattara of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in Abidjan.

The visit, which took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, offered both leaders an opportunity to engage in cordial discussions and reflect on regional cooperation and mutual interests.

Dr. Jonathan, who described the meeting as a delight, expressed appreciation to President Ouattara for the gracious reception and hospitality extended to him during the visit.

“It is always a delight catching up and engaging Mr. President in a relaxed and friendly chat. I thank His Excellency, President Ouattara, for the warm welcome,” Jonathan said in a brief statement after the meeting.

The two leaders have maintained a long-standing friendship and have often interacted on matters of regional peace, stability, and development across West Africa.

Dr. Jonathan currently serves as ECOWAS Special Envoy and is actively involved in diplomatic engagements and peacebuilding missions across the continent.
