Hon. Michael Samuel Idoko, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ogugu State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, has called for justice and improved security following the abduction and killing of Hon. Rosemary Ben Adukwu, Councillor representing Ogugu Ward III.

Idoko, in a condolence message, described the incident as a devastating loss to the people of Ogugu, stressing that the death of the elected councillor was not only a tragedy for her family but also a major loss to her constituents and the wider community.

He expressed grief over the circumstances surrounding her death, noting that the incident underscores the urgent need for more effective security measures to protect residents across Ogugu and neighbouring communities.

The PDP candidate urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation, track down those responsible and ensure they face the full weight of the law.

He also called on relevant authorities to strengthen intelligence gathering, intensify security operations and improve collaboration with community leaders to prevent further abductions and violent crimes.

Idoko extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, the Ogugu United Forum, the traditional institution, political associates and the entire Ogugu community, urging residents to remain united in the face of the tragedy.

He maintained that the protection of lives and property must remain a priority, adding that the people of Ogugu deserve an environment where they can live and conduct their daily activities without fear.

The PDP candidate prayed for the repose of Adukwu’s soul and divine comfort for her family, describing her death as a collective loss that should strengthen the community’s resolve to pursue justice, peace and lasting security.
